Installation of raised floor with UPTEC at Lido Le Nereidi
Lido Le Nereidi, located in Pozzuoli (NA), Italy, was recently paved using UPTEC system supports for raised floors.
For the project, 80x80 cm ceramic tiles, 2 cm thick, were used, for a total of approximately 850 square meters of raised flooring. About 5500 SUPAS standard height supports were used, combined with SUPAR or SUPAR120 extension rings and SUPA2 anti-slip and noise-reducing rubber heads for 2 mm joints.
All UPTEC system products are EPD certified, so it is possible to quantify the reduction in equivalent CO2 emissions guaranteed by the use of this installation system, compared to traditional installation with cementitious adhesive. For this particular project, the reduction was 54%: with a traditional solution, in fact, emissions would have been 60 tons, while with the use of UPTEC they were 27 tons.
The project was developed with the UPTEC calculator, which made it possible to accurately estimate the number of supports and accessories needed to create the flooring, as well as to precisely define their arrangement.
Since the choice fell on 80x80 cm tiles, whose dimensions exceed the maximum center distance allowed for raised installation, i.e. 60 cm between supports, it was necessary to install an additional support along the perimeter of the tiles, in addition to those already present in the 4 corners. For this project, the average height of the supports is greater than 15 cm, so the designer considered it appropriate to include an additional central support to ensure further safety.
From the confrontation between the Profilitec team and the installers who worked on the project, it emerged that the most appreciated features of UPTEC are the ease and speed of assembly, which allow the work to be completed quickly and without unforeseen events.
The concept behind the UPTEC system is modularity: SUPAS bases can be quickly attached to SUPAR and SUPAR120 extension rings, allowing the desired height to be achieved by combining them. Thanks to the SUPAK adjustment key, it is also possible to adjust the height of the supports even with the floor already laid, greatly simplifying and speeding up any adjustment operations that become necessary during construction.
