Seaside Terraces in Opatija created with UPTEC Supports

In the heart of picturesque Opatija (Croatia), overlooking the coastline, three prestigious residential buildings have seen the renovation of their seaside terraces through the use of the UPTEC raised floor system. An ambitious project, covering a total area of approximately 2500 sqm, where the choice of materials and technical solutions played a crucial role in ensuring aesthetics, durability, and practicality.

The installation of the impressive large-format ceramic tiles (60x120 cm with a thickness of 2 cm) found its ideal solution in the SUPAS supports. The real keystone of this intervention was the modularity of the UPTEC system. Thanks to the SUPAR extension rings, the installers were able to precisely achieve the desired height for each terrace section, simply by combining the rings with a quick and reliable interlocking system. This flexibility made it possible to adapt to the different levels of the subfloors efficiently and without the need for complex additional components.

Another distinctive aspect that significantly simplified the installation operations is the dual functionality of the UPTEC system supports. On this construction site, the supports were used both in fixed-head mode, for areas with optimal flatness, and in self-leveling mode, to compensate for slopes of up to 5% present in some areas of the subfloors. This smooth transition between the two modes was made possible without the use of additional accessories, but solely with the aid of the SUPAK multi-function adjustment key. The result is a perfectly flat outdoor flooring without unevenness, which maximizes the beauty of the ceramic tiles and allows, as in one of the terraces created, the placement of furnishing elements such as whirlpool tubs and planters on the flooring.

To protect the ceramic edges from accidental impacts against the walls, the special SUPACLPP clip was used. This small but fundamental detail demonstrates Profilitec's attention to providing complete solutions designed to last over time.

Finally, to ensure a precise and aesthetically pleasing 4 mm gap between the tiles, SUPA4 heads were used. These elements ensure perfect alignment of the tiles, contributing to a final result of great visual and functional impact.
